Bosman hurt smaller clubs as the transfer market became pan-European and horizontal rather than vertical, as well as removing the transfer fee from the end of the contract of a player.

On QPR, they have potential but the the club needs to play its cards rights. They're in among the likes of Palace and Charlton as the 2nd tier London sides, but too often they overcharge tickets for an inferior spectacle. If they move to a larger ground and want to bring in new, younger fans from West and NW London they should lower prices to tap into the huge under-40 demand for live games. If they start getting 10-20 years in there is a greater chance they won't swing to Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. If they compete with the bigger names in ticket prices they'll struggle to bump up their support without successAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-56279887003683783272012-04-21T16:24:09.356+02:002012-04-21T16:24:09.356+02:00Long wait for the article, fantastic as always.

In the past, we had a good youth set-up and scouting network, and we could buy cheap / sell expensive (think Ferdinand, Sinton, Darren Peacock). We're boxed in at our ground as well. So in order to stay in the premiership, we need to spend more than we'd like, and in order to improve youth set-up and move to a new ground, we need investment. Let's hope Tony Fernandes has the stomach for itJohn Cobbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-44668567840933313682012-04-20T19:10:34.659+02:002012-04-20T19:10:34.659+02:00The Watford profit is very misleading as it result...The Watford profit is very misleading as it results from the reassignment of long term debt - the club actually loses around 4m a year from operations, with occasional player sales to mitigate these.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-36291120485006143682012-04-20T13:40:25.595+02:002012-04-20T13:40:25.595+02:00Great articleGreat articleSimonhttp://eachgameasitcomes.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-24903598108772350022012-04-18T19:22:53.405+02:002012-04-18T19:22:53.405+02:00I read this yesterday, another great read.
