Unfortunately for him, Spurs and Man City have "gambled" more and he seemingly has lost his nerve.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-89087903455830382442011-01-12T15:58:13.718+01:002011-01-12T15:58:13.718+01:00Goooooonnnneeerrr (that's pretty close right?)...Goooooonnnneeerrr (that's pretty close right?), I am a villa fan and agree with your sentiments. My guess was that randy wanted to try and reach the promised land immediately through buying players. This certainly seemed to be MON's policy, largely ignoring Albrighton and our other youth players.

What the article doesn't stress is that Randy has also rebuilt the training ground so that now it is one of the best in the business. Houllier - whilst not currently doing very well - is much more in tune with a long term perspective compared to MON, so i would not be surprised if that is the route we now take.

We certainly appear to have some good young players coming through, although I doubt they could be considered top 4 good anytime soon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-75276873751135344582010-06-09T10:47:11.143+02:002010-06-09T10:47:11.143+02:00@goooooooooooner,

Problem is that there are only four places available, so this can be an expensive punt with no guaranteed return. If they have enough patience, then they could indeed follow the longer-term stadium, scouting, youth development model. The Swiss Ramblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11423088862174893998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-49241291695488775182010-06-05T21:19:47.006+02:002010-06-05T21:19:47.006+02:00(Continued)

If he is lucky!

the whole thing is complete madness.

a better strategy, would have been to invest in a better scouting network, improve the stadium or build a new stadium, and improve the sponsorship/ commercial side of the club.

This would make the club self-sufficient in the
long run.

But instead he is wasting money on mostly depreciating assets.

he might as well throw his money down the drain.

you know what they say; "easy come, easy go".

BTW nice article.goooooooooonernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-487486960623783530.post-79611146823170607522010-04-10T15:21:29.258+02:002010-04-10T15:21:29.258+02:00Thanks.
